Can I manage a Root Cloud Server without prior knowledge?
No, to manage a Root Cloud Server you need a good knowledge of Linux server administration or you have a technician on hand to take over the server administration for you.
In the case of a root system, the customer is responsible for the security of the server, updating the operating system used and the applications installed.
If you have little or no prior knowledge of server administration, we recommend a Managed Cloud Server as an alternative, where we take care of the technical management for you.
Or you choose classic web hosting, which is especially easy to use.
What is the difference between a Managed and a Root Cloud system?
Managed Cloud Server
With a Managed Cloud Server, the entire system administration (software updates, backups, monitoring, etc.) is handled by KreativMedia. However, updates of CMS systems, web applications, and their plugins or extensions are not included in the service and remain the customer’s responsibility.
All systems are based on the Linux distribution AlmaLinux and the user-friendly admin tool Plesk is already pre-installed.
Root Cloud Server
Bei einem Cloud Server mit eigenem Root-Zugang hast du die freie Wahl der Linux-Distribution gemäss Produktbeschrieb.
However, you will be responsible for system administration (software updates, backups, monitoring, etc.). Good knowledge of Linux system administration is mandatory.
